Q: Are hummingbirds found around the world?
A: No.  They are only found in the New World (Americas, Caribbean, etc.).  If you look for them in Europe, you won't find any outside of a museum (fossils) or library.

Q: How much do hummingbirds weigh?
A: Anywhere from 2.4 grams to 4.5 grams in North America.  For purposes of comparison, a US penny weighs 2.5 grams, and a US nickel weighs 5.0 grams.  I know, it is hard to believe!

Q: How fast do their wings and heart beat?
A: A small hummingbird's wings can beat from 38-78 times a second.  Their hearts can beat from 480 beats-per-minute [bpm] -- resting -- to 1,260 bpm.  For comparison, a human's heart beats from 70 bpm -- resting -- to 180 bpm.
